Strong opinions, weakly held

Month: September 1999 (page 3 of 9)

Believe it or not, sometimes IPOs go badly.

The New York Times has the best summary of the closing arguments in the Microsoft trial that I’ve read.

Remember when I was talking about the fact that CEOs make so much more money than regular folks these days? HP’s new CEO got a stock package worth up to 90 million bucks.

Hey, here’s the Spanish Slashdot. (Yes, I know I wrote Portuguese earlier, but that was due to a faulty assumption on my part.)

Who says Disney is a family-friendly company? Patrick Naughton, the inventor of Java and current executive VP at Disney, was arrested for soliciting sex with a minor. The cops found naughty pictures of minors on his laptop, too.

Finally, the closing arguments in the big antitrust trial are under way.

Do the right thing for God, country, and Microsoft’s shareholders … sign up for the Freedom to Innovate Network. The little American flag with the computer as the blue section really got my patriotic juices flowing. This makes me want to puke.

Jef Poskanzer’s license plate maker is a pretty neat toy.

Apple’s earnings are going to be down because they can’t get enough G4 processors for their smelly computers. By the way, does anyone actually have an iBook yet? I thought they were supposed to ship this month.
