Salon has an interview with Joe Firmage, the founder of USWeb who was run out of his job after he went on a big UFO kick. Firmage seems to have backed away from tales of alien visitation since he originally published his book (humbly titled The Truth) on the Web. He now seems more focused on science education and a new propulsion system that his alien visitor told him about. (That was a gratuitous swipe, but I couldn’t resist). In the interview, Firmage talks about how science is generally marked by radical ideas that create immense change. If you want to read a learned account of how this works, check out The Structure of Scientific Revolutions, by Thomas S. Kuhn.
