Strong opinions, weakly held

K5 has a great explanation of the current power problems in California, and what’s being done to address those problems.

If you’re an Emacs user, byte compilation can make your life much nicer. Now if I could only figure out why I can’t get byte compilation to work in batch mode, I’d be much happier.

I want an Apple Titanium Powerbook G4.

Arianna Huffington has an awfully good suggestion for a potential drug czar — someone who prefers treatment programs to locking up every drug user who isn’t rich or privileged.

OK, I’ve created a new poll question, about X windows. The question is whether or not you use virtual-size desktops. Am I only the person who thinks that Judge Jackson should keep his mouth shut? I don’t think he’s doing a service to the bench by giving quotes about Microsoft and its executives.
