Last year I wrote an item about the CRC Press lawsuit against MathWorld, which resulted in a court order that shut down the site. The site is now back up after a long legal fight. The full story of why the site was shut down and how it was restored is recounted in Eric’s Commentary on the Shutdown of MathWorld. The whole thing is worth reading, but the details of the settlement are particularly interesting. Wolfram basically got totally bent over because the author of the Web site didn’t read the contract that he signed.
