Yahoo is redesigning its home page to be more accommodating to advertisers. Yes, it really is that bad. They gave in to interstitial ads awhile back (at least on Yahoo Sports), so this doesn’t really come as a shock. I kind of wonder whether there’s a point at which ever larger and more intrusive ads will actually lower traffic for these sites. The Salon Premium ad seems more and more sensible to me every day — offer users the opportunity to buy their way out of the downward spiral of increasingly irritating advertising.
