In the 90’s a Danish comedian, Jacob Haugaard, got elected for parliament by mocking democracy with electioneering promises as (and I’ll translate a little freely here) “More sprinkles on rum-rolls (danish pastry)”, “guaranteed tail wind on bicycle lanes” and “Nutella (chocolate-cream-spread) in army rations”.
