Strong opinions, weakly held

Just so you know, episode II

Another installment of everyone’s favorite new feature:

  • Web analytics are incredibly inaccurate.
  • White people tend to favor government entitlements that they perceive as being spent on other white people and oppose those that they see as being spent on minorities.
  • Nobody really knows what the effects of salt intake are on health, other than if you eat no salt, you will die.
  • Famous global warming denier and “skeptical environmentalist” Bjorn Lomborg is full of crap.

  1. As much as I love John Tierney’s work in “God is my Broker”, I’m afraid I can’t believe his article on salt intake. I would find it more believable is his libertarianism wasn’t creeping into his argument on smoking and obesity. Yes, quitting smoking has caused some obesity, but it’s well known that much of the obesity epidemic in the US is among children, a population in which cigarette smoking has not significantly changed. Much of the rest of his article follows similar ridiculous extrapolations.
