So I’m a bit shocked that there’s actually a debate over whether detaining people for life without ever granting them a day in court is legal or even a good idea. Shouldn’t this be a no brainer? I especially like some of the quotes from Senators that are opposed to indefinite detention of “terrorists” without trial. Carl Levin, a Democrat, says “There must be some modicum, some semblance of due process.” Some modicum? That’s the standard these days? Where can I find an elected official with a conscience?
