Popular JavaScript-blocking Firefox extension NoScript interferes with popular ad blocking extension AdBlock Plus to insure that ads on the NoScript site are displayed. There are also a number of sites that are included on NoScript’s whitelist to insure that NoScript users see NoScript’s ads.

Expect to see more of this in the future.
If I recall correctly, Tom’s Hardware is Adblock-hostile, as their ads are served from the same location as their regular graphics, so blocking the ads will also block the graphics.

I don’t know what Tom’s used to do but I just checked and AdBlockPlus works on Tom’s Hardware no problem and it doesn’t appear that they serve ads from their own server. Although, that does sound like a very interesting “compromise” in that if you block their ads, you also block their images. The user has to decide if the price of admission (viewing ads) is worth the cost (viewing images).
