Declan McCullagh exposes Y2K wacko Gary North in a piece for Wired News today. It’s interesting to read that North has a long and distinguished history of Chicken Little behavior, and that indeed he relishes the thought of societal collapse so that a new dogmatic order can be imposed. Fortunately, the statute of limitations on Y2K lunacy will most likely run out in less than a year.

The current geek website I’ve grown to love is Ars Technica. Daily news updates, lots of interesting tech stories, and coverage of the BeOS and Mac, along with the usual Windows and Linux stuff, earns it a daily visit from me, at least for the time being.

The Smoking Gun has published old FBI memos discussing Ernest Hemingway’s clandestine efforts on behalf of the U.S. Government in Cuba. Interesting stuff.

Cross platform applications are a disease, according to Microsoft.

Sometimes Apple blows my mind. Why would you include the iMac kiddie mouse and keyboard with your awesome new desktop machines? They are, nonetheless, the latest object of my techno-lust. Much more so than the new NT machines from SGI.
