Declan McCullagh provides a survey of stupid things that politicians have said about the Internet and technology for Time Digital. Heck, he should come to work with me some day and hear some of the stupid things that people who work at an Internet company say about the Internet.
I love the new channels at My Netscape, but I’m a bit miffed that they frame the content when you click on a link. It’s particularly irritating because when the channels were unofficial, you didn’t have to deal with the frames.
Mozilla has a really cool now collaborative filtering project called NewsBot. Basically, whenever someone finds an interesting thread in the internal Mozilla newsgroups, they can write a summary and send it to an email address, and it will be added, along with a link to the discussion, to a Web page on the Mozilla site. Users can check the Web page to see what’s going on in the newsgroups that’s interesting, without having to follow all of the groups.
