They’re selling Bill Gates’ new book in 24 packs. I hear wood works better in the fireplace before you turn it into paper.
File under: more stuff nobody wants. Internet Explorer 5’s Web Accessories “feature”.
Charles Cooper says the new Bill Gates book sucks in his review for ZD Net.
How is this possible? IBM’s PC business lost a billion bucks in 1998.
One thing I really hate about News.com is that they package all of their stories in “roundups” that make you click an extra time to get the information that you wanted in the first place. CNet mines for advertising revenue by forcing extra page views onto its readers than any other site on the Internet. In fact, I find CNet so distasteful (both for their boring news coverage and inane site architecture) that I rarely read the site, much less link to it.
Microsoft made a settlement offer to the government, but it was shot down. In other news, in the process of bragging about how many people have downloaded IE 5, Microsoft admitted that they told a big fat lie about how many people downloaded IE 4. Maybe we’ll learn the truth about how many people are downloading IE 5 when IE 6 is released.
Proof that some Linux users are becoming as paranoid as hardcore Mac users. News flash to the Linux world: Linux is immune to FUD, because the only that count are the people writing code, and they are close enough to the machine to know FUD when they see it.
