Reading this column about Divine Interventures makes me very interested in watching their new ticker symbol, DIVN. How could these guys even get someone to underwrite their IPO?


This article is really disturbing. It asserts that software reviewers are writing positive reviews of Linux distributions in order to get free software. It seems to me that the problem isn’t that the reviewers are corrupt, but that they’re morons. Linux is already free. If you want a distribution on CD-ROM, you can order it from CheapBytes for like two bucks. It’s not like they’re getting free Rolexes or something.


GNU Classpath is a project that seeks to replace Sun’s Java class libraries with open source versions, so that they can be used in GPL projects. What a pain. I have no idea how far along they are, but I’d imagine that they’re pretty far behind.


The Web Standards Project issued a scathing indictment of Internet Explorer 5.5 back in April. I’m told a new statement covering the released version is on the way.
