Today is World AIDS Day. My buddies over at Medley and Genehack have redesigned their pages specifically for the Day Without Weblogs. I didn’t, but AIDS prevention and the search for a cure for AIDS are on my mind today.

I’m going to disrespect an embargo (hey, I’m not a journalist) and link to this press release and congratulate Salon on some big wins in the inaugural Online Journalism Awards presented by the Columbia School of Journalism. Richly deserved. The awards must be bittersweet for APBNews.com, who really raked in the awards, because of their financial difficulties this year. Salon also seems to be skating on thin ice with Wall Street, proving yet again that award winning reporting does not correlate with market success.
