Oh, another quick note on Zbigniew Brzezinski. I didn’t mention his manipulation of events in Afghanistan with approval. While the outcome he desired was obviously achieved, it was at the cost of literally millions of Afghan lives. When you take into consideration the fact that we knowingly and purposefully goaded the Soviet Union into invading Afghanistan, the fact fact that we failed to bail them out when the Soviets left in the eighties is an even more bitter pill to swallow.
Slashdot has an update on Blizzard’s lawsuit against the Battle.net clone bnetd. One interesting thing about the case is that they forced the bnetd guys to take down their Web site using the DMCA, but now that they’ve filed their actual legal complaint, they’ve not included any DMCA violations in it. Once again this illustrates what a nasty law the DMCA is. If someone accuses you under the DMCA, your ISP is obliged to remove your content regardless of how strong your case is under the law.
This year’s Pulitzer Prizes should have been called the 9/11 memorial edition, which I think was fine and appropriate.
