Microsoft is going to try to squeeze more money out of consumers by “relaunching” Windows98 with IE5 built in and calling it Windows 98, Second Edition (I guess Microsoft has finally abandoned that wacky computer industry practice of assigning version numbers to products once and for all). Bill Gates actually had the gall to say, “This is not a major upgrade like Windows 98 was.” By whose standard was Windows 98 a major upgrade? What Microsoft needs to do is release a service pack to fix all of the broken parts of Windows 98, preferably before the turn of the century. Anyway, it’s just more crap like I’ve come to expect. News.com has the story, if you care.
