MozillaZine has a useful thread on people’s satisfaction with Mozilla. I’m pretty unhappy with Mozilla’s progress, although I will allow that M16 is much, much better than M15. Still, the UI is nowhere near where it needs to be, and the software still feels like it’s a long way from release. AOL is saying that Netscape 6 will be released by the end of the year (in “late fall”) but I don’t see that as being realistic. Then, there’s the fact that in the meantime, IE has basically monopolized the browser market. I think Mozilla is a really cool piece of software, but I think it has a number of crippling flaws that could prevent its mass adoption, and they need to release something sooner rather than later. When are they going to freeze the feature set? The fact that they haven’t yet troubles me.
