One thing you have to like about George W Bush, he’s following through on his promise of smaller government. Specifically, he’s worked very hard to eliminate any government spending that might be used to oversee his activities or produce information that might reflect poorly on his performance. Take, for example, his cancellation of a Department of Labor program that tracks mass layoffs. The best part of the story is that his father canceled the very same program during his Presidency because it clearly illustrated the poor state the economy was in. Like father, like son.
