For what it’s worth, I do delete comments. I delete anything that looks like spam, and I don’t tolerate the pointlessly obnoxious. Fortunately, I get very few pointlessly obnoxious comments, so I almost never choose to delete anything aside from spam.

I call B.S. on that. I’ve had many good online discussions in unmoderated forums. Moderation may help, and there are certainly many forums where without some form of moderation I wouldn’t bother to read let alone participate, but as a absolute requirement? Piffle.
