The other day I mentioned that my hard drive died and I lost all of the song ratings and play counts from my iTunes library. Some people made some excellent suggestions in the comments about how I might be able to rescue that data. As it turns out, fate was on my side. I had already burned an Ubuntu live CD so that I could test some hardware I had bought before my new Windows XP CD arrived via UPS, and I tried booting up the PC with the dead hard drive from that. Well, I stuck the CD in the machine too late, and it booted up into Windows instead of playing dead. I quickly zipped up the files I needed and used scp to copy them to a server, and ten minutes later I had the old iTunes data on the new PC.

my ipod photo showed an image on the screen about an ipod with X’s on its eyes and had a sad face. then later my ipod functioned again but now the songs don’t play or it freezes. Please help me.

I purchased my IPOD when it first was a “craze”; I’m guessing about 3-4 years ago. It won’t hold a charge. I went into the IPOD store in The Grove, and the sales associate suggested I go to this website. Can you help? I paid close to $350-400.

i think i got some water into my ipod nano, and it kinda scramble half of my screen. everything else works fine, im just wondering how much it will cost to fix it. i saw on one site around 70 bucks, is that pretty much standard?

the head phone jack is broke on my ipod mini. it’s out of warrantee and the ipod store can’t fix it for us. Is there a way to repair just this headphone ‘female’ component? b.
