Strong opinions, weakly held

Computers, the love affair

O’Reilly Radar is publishing a series on how people got into computers. I’ll try to post my story soon, although I assume it’s probably similar to that of many people my age.

  1. My uncle worked at IBM and got me an IBM PC when I was about 8. It had no games and only came with the most basic software, and I lived far away, on the family farm, from any computer stores.

So, I figured out BASIC by trial and error. Ever since, I’ve been into computers!

  2. Nice blog you Gotcha here
